Roles
The Roles tab defines the custom roles available to Users of your generated apps — the same roles you saw referenced from a generated app’s own App Details → Roles sub-tab.
These are roles for your generated apps’ end users (e.g. “Admin”, “Staff”, “Customer”) — not the fixed Owner/Admin/Developer/Viewer roles that control access to the qRaptor project itself. See Roles & permissions for those.
Each role is shown as a card with its name, description, and member count. Admin is a protected role (marked with a lock badge) — it can’t be deleted.
Creating a role
Click Create Role and give it a Role Name (letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores — must start with a letter) and an optional Description.
A new role starts with no page access and no data permissions — configure those afterward in Permissions and Data Governance. There’s also no way to rename a role or change its description after creating it — double-check the name before saving, or delete and recreate it.
A role card’s menu has:
- Edit Permissions — highlights the card; it doesn’t open an editor here. To actually configure what the role can do, go to the Permissions or Data Governance tab and select the role there.
- Delete Role — removes the role after a confirmation. Users holding it lose the access it granted; they aren’t reassigned to another role automatically.
Common issues
- Can’t delete a role — Admin is protected and can’t be deleted.
- Deleted a role by mistake — There’s no undo; recreate the role and reassign it to affected users, then reconfigure its Permissions and Data Governance rules.
