Create a Copilot
By the end of this page you will have a new Copilot open in the Copilot Studio, ready to configure.
Prerequisites
- A project created (Create your first project).
- Owner, Admin, or Developer role.
- Recommended: a published AI Agent or Multi-Agent System to bind as the brain. You can also bind one later. See Build an AI Agent.
Steps
Open the Apps page
In your project sidebar, click Apps. The landing page heading reads Create Apps.
Choose the Copilot platform
At the top of the page, the platform selector offers three types: Web, Mobile, and Copilot. Select Copilot.
The prompt composer used for Web and Mobile is replaced with a short description and a Create Copilot button. Click it to open the creation wizard.
Step 1 — Setup
The wizard opens on the Setup step. Fill in:
- Name (required) — for example,
Aurora Support. Must be at least 2 characters. - Description (optional) — a brief note on what this Copilot does.
Then, under Brain (optional), choose what powers the Copilot’s responses. Use the Search agents & systems… box to filter, then pick from one of two columns:
| Column | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Agents | Your project’s AI Agents that are active |
| Multi-Agent Systems | Your project’s multi-agent systems |
Select one agent or one system — they’re mutually exclusive. Selecting from one column clears any selection in the other.
The brain is optional at creation. If you leave it empty, you’ll see a note that your Copilot won’t respond until one is bound — you can add it later on the Brain tab.
Click Continue.
Step 2 — Brand
Set a starting look. This is intentionally minimal — the full appearance controls live in the Studio.
- Primary Color — pick one of the preset swatches or use the color picker for a custom hex value. The default is qRaptor green (
#1dc690). - Logo URL (optional) — paste a URL to a hosted image. There’s no file upload here; you can upload a logo file later in the Studio.
A small live Preview on the right reflects your color, logo, and name as you type.
Create the Copilot
Click Create Copilot. qRaptor creates the Copilot and opens it in the Copilot Studio. Because there’s nothing to build, it’s ready immediately.
Common issues
- The Create Copilot button doesn’t appear — Make sure the platform selector is set to Copilot, not Web or Mobile.
- You can’t click Continue — Enter a name of at least 2 characters.
- No agents or systems are listed — Only active AI Agents and your project’s multi-agent systems appear. Publish an AI Agent first, or bind the brain later from the Brain tab.
- “You don’t have permission” — Ask a project Owner or Admin to grant you a Developer or Admin role.
