Documents
Documents is your project’s file store — a place to upload, organize, preview, and version files. Agents read from it with the document tools, and you can link a folder or file into a Content Store to make its text searchable.
By the end of this page you will be able to upload files, organize them into folders, preview and version them, and manage them in bulk.
Prerequisites
- Admin or Developer role to upload and change files. Viewers can browse and download.
- Open Data Vault → Documents.
Documents vs Assets — Documents is a general-purpose file store with folders and versioning. Assets is a separate area for brand and reference files that the app-generation AI reuses. Use Documents for files your agents read; use Assets for design inputs to generated apps.
Upload files
Open the upload dialog
Click Upload Files. The Upload Documents dialog opens.
Add your files
Drag and drop files onto the drop area, or click to browse. You can upload several at once; each shows its progress and a ”✓ Uploaded” state. The maximum is 50 MB per file.
Uploads count against your project’s storage quota. If you’re out of space, the upload is rejected — free up space or upgrade your plan.
Organize with folders
- Create a folder — click New Folder, name it, and confirm.
- Navigate — open a folder to move into it; use the Files breadcrumb to move back up.
- Move or copy — select files (see below), then use the bulk bar’s Move to or Copy to and pick a destination folder.
- Filter — the Search documents… box filters the current folder by name.
Preview, version, and manage a file
Open a file’s ⋮ menu for Download, Info, Rename, and Delete. Click a file to open the full-screen preview.
Preview a file
Images, PDFs, video, audio, text, and code render inline. Images and video support zoom, rotate, and reset. If a type can’t be previewed, download it to view.
Upload a new version
From the preview, click New Version to replace the file’s contents while keeping its history.
See version history
Open Info to view file details — type, size, dates, uploaded-by, storage backend — and expand Version History to see previous versions.
Work with several files at once
Choose Manage → Select Items to enter selection mode. Tick the files you want, and a bulk action bar appears with Download, Move to, Copy to, and Delete.
Common issues
- Upload rejected — the file is over 50 MB, or your project is out of storage quota.
- “Preview not available” — the file type can’t be rendered inline; download it to view.
- A folder won’t delete — deleting a folder removes it and everything inside; confirm you want that, as it can’t be undone.
